Lipstick and Irony

This weekend's Trifextra writing challenge: write a 33-word piece including a color.

I wear pale pink. It's called "Demure."

Her shade is whorish bright red. I've seen it on her vanity.
When she's away, he lets me stay over.
I pretend he chose me instead.

  1. Liked this one! For the record, I wear both but I feel much better with demure. Red makes me feel a little sassier than I'm used to. Maybe I should wear it more :). Well done!

    1. Thank you! I guess my shade falls somewhere between demure and whorish. :)

  2. I love red lipstick-I wear it in my dreams. In real life, I usually go Demure too:) I was so excited when I saw that you'd linked up because I knew I was in for a treat-and I was!

    1. Awww, thank you so much, Valerie!

I tried to wear red, but it felt like my lips entered the room before I did. I'd rather people focus on my breasts instead. Haha!

  4. I'm not good with colors...I wear ChapStick :) I had to laugh at the irony: her description of the red color when she's staying at the house of another woman's man!

    1. Thank you. Apparently lipstick shade isn't a good indicator of someone's character. Who knew? :)

  5. Oh ho! Nice twist. And it's so true about the implication of red lipstick wearers!
