Once upon a time, two perfect little children picked up all their crap, brushed their teeth and went to bed on time so Mommy could enjoy a cocktail and watch Lifetime in peace.

FULL DISCLOSURE: I originally linked up with another story, but it was kind of depressing. So, yeah, I ditched it. Now THIS would be a real happy ending but, alas, it is a fairy tale.
Ha! I love fiction!
ReplyDeleteI liked both takes, this one is certainly lighter, but I'm more of a Grimm girl than not. :)
Thank you! I actually started down this direction first, but then went with the other post. I should've stuck with my gut. When it doubt, go with the story that includes alcohol. :)
DeleteI love it! I know what story I'm going to tell the kids tonight!
ReplyDeleteHope you have more success with it than I usually do. :)
DeleteAMEN!
ReplyDeleteRight?! :)
DeleteI had to stop laughing before I could type my comment. Picking up all their stuff would be a miracle, indeed! (They think shoes belong where ever they happen to fall off your feet.) I'm going to start hiding them, for fun.
ReplyDeleteDo it! What good is having kids if you can't mess with their minds from time to time?
DeleteGlad you enjoyed it!
Perfect!
ReplyDeleteThanks!
Delete'Tis truly a fairy tale and a sweet dream. Too bad something's don't come true! I loved this. True life!
ReplyDeleteI'm still waiting for that magical night to happen. Not holding my breath, though.
DeleteThanks for the kind words!
A fairy tale indeed! So many of us can relate!
ReplyDeleteYes, every night mothers worldwide are threatening, bargaining and pleading to no avail--hence the need for cocktails. :)
DeleteThis is a real fairytale.
ReplyDeleteThey say fairytales do come true. I don't see this one happening though.
DeleteThanks for reading!
A clever mother... Ha! :-D
ReplyDeleteNot clever enough to get those perfect little children in bed on time. :)
DeleteWhat a hoot this is Ivy! I love what you came up with!! Cocktails are the key of course-like a fairy tale in every bottle;)
ReplyDeleteFun 33 wonderful words!!
"A fairy tale in every bottle."
DeleteTruer words have never been written. :)
Thank you so much for the wonderful comment!
I have those two perfect children. Oh, wait, that was a dream of mine. :) This is wonderful. Actually since school started here this week, both girls are so tired, they are asleep already. First time since summer, they have been asleep before 10 p.m. Great story.
ReplyDeleteSchool started here this week, too, but it hasn't had the same sleep-inducing impact on my two perfect children. Hopefully it kicks in soon.
DeleteThanks for the kind words!
Such a beautiful thought before bed! Nicely done.
ReplyDeleteA girl can dream, right? Thank you so much!
DeleteI hear ya, Kiddo! :)
ReplyDelete:) Thanks for reading!
DeleteHahaha, that's a fairy tale indeed....sigh...
ReplyDeleteYes, unfortunately. :(
DeletePicked up all their crap... Imagine that!
ReplyDeleteLoved this.
Wouldn't that be magical? :) Thank you!
DeleteHa! Fiction, indeed...but the bedtime story all we mommies dream of.
ReplyDeleteFan.Tas.Tic.
Yes, we do. Thanks so much!
DeleteIndeed a fairy tale!! good one
ReplyDeleteMaybe there's a magic potion out there that could help make this come true?
ReplyDeleteBrilliant take on the prompt!
I would sell my children for such a potion, but that would defeat the purpose, wouldn't it. :)
DeleteThank you!
Every fairy tale has a grain of truth at its center...right? One can hope anyway!
ReplyDeleteHope is what keeps me going--that and the cocktails.
DeleteThe word 'crap' is so nicely played here. Ha! Good luck with that one. Thanks for linking up.
ReplyDeleteCrap is so versatile. Clothes, toys, books, papers, food messes = crap. :)
DeleteThank you!
